CORE BELIEFS
Denominational Affiliation
Healing Wings is not affiliated or aligned with any specific denomination. We strongly believe that it is necessary to work with all Bible based denominations in order to prepare the Bride for her finest hour! We also believe it’s the cry of Jesus for His bride to gather in a spirit of unity to worship, pray and contend for the promises of God over their communities, cites and nations.
Accountability
We believe in accountability. Healing Wings Ministries is accountable to our local church leadership, Gateway on Mount Zion, which is the home of Activation Ministries International. Both Debbie and Robin received their ordination as Ministers of the Gospel in October 2011.
We are also accountable to a board of directors.
Statement of Faith
We Believe
1. We believe there is one God, who is Creator and Sustainer of all things existing
eternally in three persons: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.
(1 John 5:7; Eph. 4:4-6; John 10:30; John 14:26)
2. We believe that Jesus Christ, the Son of God, is the Messiah and the Living Word of God. He became flesh through His miraculous conception by the Holy Spirit and His virgin birth. He lived a sinless life and died on the cross as a sacrifice for our sins. On the third day He rose from the dead, ascended into heaven, where He is seated at the right hand of God and rules as Head of the Church. He now is our High Priest and Mediator.
(John 1: 1-3, 14; 1 Cor. 15:3-4; 2 Cor. 5:21; Eph. 1:20-22; Heb. 4:14-15)
3. We believe the Bible, in its entirety, to be the inspired Word of God and the final
authority for our faith and conduct. (2 Tim. 3:16-17)
4. We believe man is created in the image of God, but in his sinfulness is separated from God. And that without Jesus he is eternally lost. Our salvation is wholly dependent upon the work of God’s free gift of grace.
(Gen. 1:26; 1 Tim. 2:5; Eph. 2:8-9; Rom. 5:1)
5. We believe the victorious redemptive work of Christ on the cross is a complete work that provides freedom from the power of the enemy; including sin, lies, disease, sickness, and torment. Christ's death and resurrection not only provided a way for our sins to be forgiven, but for our souls and bodies to be delivered, healed, and made whole.
(1 John 3:8; 1 John 5:4; 1 Pet. 2:24; Is. 53:4-5; Rom. 8:11)
6. We believe in water baptism, as taught and demonstrated by Jesus, as the way for believers to identify with the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus.
(Rom. 6:4; Matt. 28:19)
7. We believe the Baptism of the Holy Spirit, distinct from the New Birth, is a gift from God. Its purpose is to empower the believer to develop the character and mind of Christ, as well as be His witnesses throughout the earth.
(Matt. 3:11; Acts 1:5, 8; Acts 2:3-4)
8. We believe God gives all believers spiritual gifts. They are for the strengthening of God’s people (the church) and proof of God’s existence and power to unbelievers. The gifts of the Spirit are active and relevant today.
(1 Cor. 12:4-11; 1 Pet. 4:10)
9. We believe the Church consists of all who put their faith in Jesus Christ.
The Church exists to carry on the ministry of Jesus Christ and further advance His kingdom by undoing the works of the enemy, preaching and living the good news of God’s love, discipling the nations, baptizing and teaching them to love and obey God.
(1 Cor. 12:12-14; Eph. 2:19-22)
10. We believe that Jesus Christ is coming again in power and glory to take those who believe in Him to live with Him forever in heaven. We believe that Heaven and Hell are real places. There will be a resurrection of the saved and the lost, the one to everlasting life and the other to everlasting death.
(Heb. 9:28; Acts 1:10-11; John 5:28-29; 1 Thess. 4:16-17)
11. We believe Jesus Christ commands all believers, to proclaim the Gospel as His
ambassadors throughout the world, and to make disciples of all nations.
(Matt. 28:18-20)
